Father God,
Thank you for these precious new friends. Thank you for their thirst to read Your Word from cover to cover. Lord, I pray that you will give them the perseverance to read each daily portion. Father, that you would protect the time that they set aside to read daily. Protect it from interruptions and busyness. Open their hearts Father that as they read they would see how Your Word leads us to Your Son Jesus. Thank you Lord for hearing our prayers.

ReplyDeleteOk, I'm reading. Doing it in the Amplified like I planned. I went to Bible Gateway and I'm reading it there. The words are easy to read without my glasses and I can just minimize the page when I do other stuff. I do agree that the footnote numbers and letters are distracting. I plan to read straight through, whenever I get a break, and not stop to look up any references. If I want to discover more I'll go back when I've finished reading as directed.
Two questions . . . the Bible mentions that Lamech killed a young man. I've always figured that nothing was included in the Bible unless there was a reason. Why is it mentioned?
We never find out Noah's wife's name. She must have been long suffering. . . or maybe not. She might have nagged him every minute but not enough to keep her off the ark.
This isn't to try to stump you, just things I've not noticed before. I didn't think they were "in class" topics.
You did great last night. Loose, (not in the way of a "loose woman", that's a Biblical term, I think)friendly and open. Nice start.
